John Na’em Snobar

Palestinian Christian Public Intellectual

John Na’em Snobar is an emerging voice in Palestinian Christian thought, engaging global audiences on matters of faith, leadership, and geopolitics.

Through speaking, teaching, and dialogue, he brings together theology, history, and lived experience to challenge, inform, and inspire.

John Na’em Snobar is the Director of Advocacy for Palestinian Christians in Australia, a lawyer, and a former Australian diplomat. He is the grandson of the first Palestinian Anglican Bishop of Jerusalem, Bishop Faik Ibrahim Haddad.

John resigned in protest over the Australian Government’s stance to the genocide in Palestine. As a Palestinian Christian, his work is rooted in lived experience, history, and a desire to see a more thoughtful and faithful expression of leadership emerge in today’s world.

He engages questions that sit at the intersection of belief and reality: how faith informs public life, how identity shapes perspective, and how leadership is formed in times of complexity.

About John

A Perspective Formed at the Intersection

John’s perspective is shaped by three converging spaces: theology, lived Palestinian experience, and global diplomatic conversation.

Rather than separating these, he brings them into dialogue—believing that faith must speak meaningfully into the realities people face today.

His work seeks to challenge shallow narratives and invite deeper reflection—both intellectually and spiritually.

“My work is not simply to inform minds, but to awaken hearts.”

Through advocacy, teaching, and conversation, John contributes to a rich tradition of Palestinian Christian thought leadership.

His role in advocacy focuses on representation and voice—ensuring that Palestinian Christian perspectives are not only present, but engaged with seriously.

Alongside this, his theological formation continues to shape the depth and direction of his thought and engagement.

His Work

At the heart of John’s work is a desire to move beyond information and toward transformation.

He is driven by a vision of faith that is lived, conscious, and deeply connected to the world—one that challenges, restores, and calls people into deeper awareness of Christ.

He believes that leadership is not simply about influence, but about responsibility: to speak truthfully, to act faithfully, and to remain grounded in both conviction and humility.
